ESW1 Fire Cladding Reports

Due to the tragic Grenfell Tower disaster, it is now a requirement to submit an EWS1 form for any mortgage application for a residential apartment building where the highest floor is 18m and some form of combustible cladding material is present.

Changes in Government advice in January 2020 means that buildings below 18m in height may also need a survey if there are ‘specific concerns’.

This process is used as a way for a building owner to confirm that an external wall system on residential buildings has been assessed for safety by a suitable expert.

Here at Midlands Building Consultancy, we able to offer this service as we have been formally trained in Fire engineering services, having experience in both prescriptive and engineered solutions covering all the necessary legal requirements to be able to advise fully if the current arrangement is satisfactory and offer a cost effective solution, should any remedial works be required.
